Police traps group of gamblers in Tarlac City

In an intelligence operation, police caught a number of wanted gamblers in action in Tarlac, last September 19.

The widespread gambling, performed simultaneously in four streets adjacent to each other, was cleared by the operation in lieu to the municipality’s “Campaign against Illegal Gambling.”

At Romulo Street in Camiling alone, five people- Eugene Posadas, 42, Hermie Cruz Yadao, 30, Efren Tiamzon Gomez, 25, Romano Luazon Dulay, 29 and Jose Danato Yadao were arrested while playing Russian poker or locally called as “Pusoy”.

Likewise, another five people- Darwin Viernes, Joseph Santos, Ferdie Iglesias Tomas, Mike Y. Luna and John G. Iglesia were also arrested at Gomez Street Poblacion, In Arellano street, only two persons named Micheal Reyes Espino, 37, and Miguel P. Dulay were arrested.

Republic Act 9287 or the law declaring gambling as illegal is now being organized for a stricter implementation. Violation of the said act will result to a punishment of imprisonment for 30 days to 20 years.
